BATTLE OF NODDLE ISLAND REGATTA & RE-ENACTMENT – NOAH

By October 30, 2019 No Comments

The Battle of Noddle Regatta & Re-enactment is an event to commemorate the Battle of Noddle Island, also called the Battle of Chelsea Creek, which was the 2nd military engagement of the American Revolutionary War that occurred around the shores of East Boston on May 26 & 27, 1775. This event was crucial to breaking the Siege of Boston helping to kickstart Colonial independence from the British Crown. The regatta will depart from LoPresti Park with kayaks and canoes where community participants will paddle down the East Boston waterfront to the Chelsea Creek Urban Wild. At the Urban Wild, we will have a fun community ‘Revolutionary re-enactment’ with the children, a barbecue cook-out, a Grand Union flag-raising and learn to kayak lessons.
