Registration is now open for Community PlanIt: Climate Smart Boston — a three-week game where you can share your stories and contribute your thoughts about the impacts of climate change in your neighborhood, while helping to advance Boston’s climate preparedness and city-wide planning efforts.

Don’t miss your chance to play. Click here to sign up today!

Community PlanIt: Climate Smart Boston is a unique opportunity to get involved online about issues that impact your neighborhood — from flooding to extreme temperatures. By signing up to you play, you’ll have the chance to share your stories and earn points to support a local community project.

Here’s how it works:

1.) Sign up before Saturday, March 26th (or jump in any time before the last mission ends)
2.) Play! Each week you’ll get a new set of challenge questions to complete.
3.) Earn points. With each challenge question, you can earn coins to put towards a local community project — or “cause” in the game — that could win real-world funding.
4.) Compete against other players and climb to the top of the leadership board just by sharing your answers and interacting with others. Top players and organizations will be recognized with awards at an in-person community event after the game ends.
5.) Stay plugged in to see how you helped shape Boston’s climate future.

Climate change is a real part of Boston’s future. As we continue to prepare for the impacts, there will be more opportunities to learn what you can do and act on climate. Greenovate Boston will share the immediate and long-term impacts of climate change in Boston neighborhoods, but it’s important to remember that strong communities are resilient communities. That’s why we’re asking you to share Community PlanIt: Climate Smart Boston with your friends, family and neighborhoods.

About Community PlanIt:
The Community PlanIt platform was created by the Engagement Lab at Emerson College and has been used in a wide variety of planning contexts to bring more diverse and broad public participation into public processes since 2012. This version of the game that focuses on public engagement about climate readiness and resilience in cities is being piloted in Boston with generous support from the World Wildlife Fund.
