WILLIAM POWERS AT TRIDENT BOOKSELLERS

William Powers, author of 12×12, a green living bestseller, has come out with his newest book, New Slow City. The book details his experiment with the “slow” movement and green living in NYC’s hyper urban environment.

He will be reading from his book at Trident Booksellers on September 22 at 7pm, as well as offering tips on slow/green living.

William Powers is an expert in sustainable development who has worked in development aid and conservation in Latin America, Africa, and North America for over a decade; his work in the Bolivian Amazon won a 2003 prize for environmental innovation from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. A third-generation New Yorker, Powers has spent two decades exploring the American culture of speed and its alternatives in some fifty countries around the world. His essays and commentaries on global issues have appeared in the New York TimesThe AtlanticThe Washington Post and NPR. Powers has worked at the World Bank and holds international relations degrees from Brown and Georgetown. Powers, who has authored four books, is a senior fellow at the World Policy Institute and an adjunct faculty member at New York University.
