INCREASING ACCESS PART II: IMPLEMENTING LOW-INCOME COMMUNITY SHARED SOLAR IN YOUR COMMUNITY

By October 30, 2019 No Comments

This webinar will feature two non-profit models for low- to moderate-income community shared solar that municipalities in the MAPC region and across Massachusetts can implement to spread the benefits of solar to disadvantaged populations in their communities. Resonant Energy will provide attendees an inside look into their Solar Access program which aims to reduce the financial barriers to rooftop solar for LMI residents. Solstice will provide an update on their low-moderate income research currently funded by a DOE SunShot grant. Through this, Solstice is investigating an alternative metric to be used in place of a credit score and will be looking municipalities and organizations in Massachusetts and New Jersey interested in piloting projects in their communities. The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources will then provide an update on their solar policy initiatives and upcoming opportunities related to low-income community shared solar.

This webinar is a continuation of MAPC’s solar webinar series and is the second installment this spring focused on municipal strategies to increase equitable access to the benefits of clean energy within their communities.
