Our special guests for the month of Mayare Nhi-Ha Trinh, M.D.,MPH,Olivia Okereke, M.D., M.S, and potentially Christine Crawford, M.D., MPH.
Our May dialogue will be based on the following topics: Racial Battle Fatigue vs. Depression; Addressing Culturally Incompetent Therapies; Interventions for maximizing mental healthcare in underserved minority populations.
As always, we will kick off our session with 50-minutes of topic-related dialogue, followed by a 40-minute yoga/ meditation intermission led by Hands to Heart Center community yoga teachers. We will have some fliers on mental wellness and community resources available for attendees to take home. Our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable space at each session. Therefore, being respectful, compassionate, and considerate of one another fosters this atmosphere.
