RENEW BOSTON’S SUMMER WORKSHOP ROUNDUP

By October 23, 2019 No Comments

Saturday, June 10th was Renew Boston’s last workshop of the season. It was a perfect day to connect with West Roxbury residents and talk about their home energy efficient needs.

Our workshop, which was held at the BCYF Roche Community Center, was filled with all kinds of resources provided by our partner organizations: Mass Save, ABCD, and the Boston Home Center. As residents began to fill the room, neighbors mingled over coffee, pastries, and energy efficiency resources.

By the start of the workshop the space was filled with about 35 folks of all ages, eager to learn more about the steps they can take to make their home more energy efficient. If you missed Saturday’s workshop, you can check out our website to learn more about the resources provided by Renew Boston.

If you’re ready to make your home more energy efficient (which can save you money on your next utility bill and help make Boston a greener city), call 617-635-7283. A home energy visit provides you with immediate home energy improvements such as LED light bulbs, power strips, shower-heads, and a programmable thermostat (all at no-cost to you!)

Saturday’s workshop wrapped up with question and answers from residents, and raffle prizes provided by Eversource. Our workshops will return in September with a campaign to connect with renters and coordinate with property owners and landlords across the city to resources for home energy efficiency projects.

Call Lourdes Lopez, Renew Boston Program Manager at 617-635-3850 to learn more about how you can save money on your utility bills while helping make Boston a greener, healthier city.Greenovate Boston is here to connect residents to resources to take climate action. Renew Boston is Mayor Walsh’s initiative to help Bostonians reduce their own pollution, contributing to the City’s overall goal to be carbon free by 2050. Like Mayor Walsh said at a recent Renew workshop, “Every action that you take today, no matter how small is important to the city’s resiliency”.

Have a safe and fun summer!
