NEW TEAM INTRODUCTIONS – JESS FELDISH

By October 19, 2019 No Comments

Greenovate staff has had some changes over the past few months – meet the new team in this series of introduction blog posts.

Diverse vibrant neighborhoods, endless possibilities for innovative resources and ideas, and a strong tradition of pride, national leadership on important issues, and overcoming challenges – these are some of the reasons I love Boston and I’m incredibly honored to be the new Greenovate Boston Program Manager.

My name is Jessica Feldish, and I live in Mission Hill. I graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Environmental Studies, and concentrations in political and environmental sciences. As a student, I worked with different communities to learn how to turn small ideas into projects, and use the results to scale-up to larger initiatives.

That’s me on the left in the black this past spring – I was volunteering with Greenovate at the 9th Annual YouthCAN Conference.

As a student, I gained experience working for things like Oxfam America’s Oxfam Action Corpsteam, former City Councilor Rob Consalvo, and the student initiative I helped found – Trash2Treasure. Since graduating, I’ve worked and/or volunteered at Green City Growers, Boston Cyclists Union, Femmechanics Boston, Synapse Energy Economics, and most recently, as the Recycling Coordinator for Boston Public Schools.

I’m most interested in connecting environmental issues to community resiliency and neighborhood networks – an essential building block I see towards creating a more conscientious and supportive City that allows all of our neighbors to thrive. Please reach out and share how you and your group is interested in making progress on our Climate Action Plan- and say hi if you see me on the streets – I love commuting with, exploring on, and learning more about my bike!
