The Friends of the Boston HarborWalk are delighted that Mike Manning will lead us on a guided tour of the South Boston Seaport section of the HarborWalk. All are welcome, but please only RSVP if you plan to come, as space is limited and we want to be able to contact you in case of inclement weather.

The Seaport, or the “Innovation District” is Boston’s newest neighborhood.  Spanning the area between Fort Point Channel and Castle Island, the area through the Big Dig era was an expanse of parking lots with few inhabited buildings.  Now anchored by the Institute of Contemporary Art (2006), Boston Children’s Museum (1979), Liberty Wharf (2011), the Moakley Courthouse (1999) and an ever expanding menu of destination restaurants, the Seaport is hopping!

We’ll meet outside the Barking Crab restaurant and will walk along the HarborWalk down past Liberty Wharf.  There is nearby paid parking, or take the MBTA Silver Line from South Station to the Courthouse Station.  After the walking tour, enjoy one of many delicious restaurants for lunch, or visit http://www.bostonsnewwaterfront.com/ for more ideas on enjoying your afternoon!

The Friends of the Boston HarborWalk is a volunteer organization with The Boston Harbor Association. We meet bimonthly and host guided walks along Boston’s 47-mile HarborWalk. For more information on the Friends.
