CLIMATE AND RACIAL JUSTICE

By October 30, 2019 No Comments

On April 27th, RISE and GreeningRozzie will present a diverse panel of local environmental justice leaders, clean energy activists and health and safety experts.  We will learn what we can do locally to fight climate change and environmental racism NOW!  Climate change, pollution, and environmental degradation disproportionately impact communities of color.  Let us seek to address this injustice.

“We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.”  MLK

Participants include:

  • Mariella Puerto, Moderator, Barr Foundation
  • Eugenia Gibbons, Mass Energy
  • Kalila Barnett, Alternatives for Community and Environment (ACE)
  • Adnan Malek, Youth on Board
  • Kristen Wyman, (Nipmuc), Gedakina
  • Jom, singer/guitar

This forum is part of RISE’s ongoing efforts to defend and strengthen our community while building a broader movement for social and economic justice.  RISE (Roslindale is for everyone) is a network of neighbors who have come together to resist oppressive policies, build community connections, resilience and infrastructure and to amplify the voices of most impacted among us. This event is free and childcare and translation will be provided.
